I’m jbp3. I solve problems.

In less than 10 minutes of screen time Harvey Keitel brings to life my favorite character of all time: Winston Wolfe. When shit hits the fan, The Wolf is the person you want on your side: problem solver extraordinaire, thrives under pressure, always delivers the goods.

My career has been an intertwining journey of becoming that go-to problem solver for the most amazing and spectacular business opportunities and shitstorms imaginable. It has given me an endless supply of material to practice embodying my inner Winston Wolf, and I love it.

Ten years ago, I was in the trenches with the five cofounders of DigitalOcean as a consultant before they hired their first employee. DigitalOcean chose to compete directly with Amazon and went on to raise over $490 million in funding before going public reaching a valuation over $15 billion. I cofounded one of the largest startup events in the world as a way to support entrepreneurs because there was a huge gap in the marketplace. I founded two software development shops where we designed, developed and launched over 35 startups for our clients to help bring their dreams to life. And before all of that, I worked for an international bank during the financial crisis where I led teams on multi-billion dollar remediation projects. I’ve been CEO, COO, CTO, led product and sales teams and many other roles that were needed at the time.

I thrive in fast paced, high impact, often chaotic situations with no clear answers but lots of problems to be solved.

I work with founders in the trenches to significantly move the needle forward on their highest impact projects.

I don’t know what I am. I know that I am not a category. I am not a thing — a noun. I seem to be a verb, an evolutionary process.
— Buckminster Fuller

This list below is my evolutionary process. My journey of self discovery has led me to many strange and wonderful places where I’ve been able to learn, iterate, play and experiment. I didn’t have some master plan to become a generalist problem solver or course correct so many times, but I’ve come to love it and am grateful for all of it.

  • Working on something fresh; built MVPs for over 35 startups (including an acquisition by KPMG, a Forbes Top 20 Fastest Growing Company and over $1 billion in valuations)

  • Cofounder of TechDay (one of the largest startup events in the world); COO of Abundant serving top sales leaders and entrepreneurs

  • Spent the last 7 years traveling the world teaching and learning leadership with epic entrepreneurs, super heroes, mystics, healers and some of my favorite humans

  • Sold everything from 6-figure software projects to 5-figure sponsorship deals and personal development packages to door to door sales of stocks, bonds and health food products

  • Early stage investing in tech startups, web3, defi and crypto gaming and protocols; terrible day trader

  • Published 300+ posts over the last 10 years; over 80 million views on Quora; my private journal entries are wild 🤣

  • Fascinated by all the things we can’t explain; lover of the deepest philosophical debates; been around enough magical things to know that (1) this belongs on this list and (2) I still can't properly explain why just yet
