When I read an article like this, it really puts in to perspective how insignificant everything really is. Honestly, if crazy shit like that is going on 7 billion light years away, does it really matter that I busted up my leg on Wednesday? Does it really matter if you ask a girl out.. and she says no? Or if you pitch an investor and he says he’s not interested?
In the grand scheme of things, of course this insignificant stuff doesn’t matter. It may suck at the time or be embarrassing or disappointing. But life goes on.
Do you know what is a whole lot more painful than all that embarrassing stuff that happens while your living life? Regret and wasted opportunities. That shit sucks, because there is no going back. When you miss out on something because of fear or because you didn’t take action, that is going to stick with you for a long time — always asking “what if?”
Ughhh! It’s bothering me even writing about regret. So realize how insignificant your pain, embarrassment, and disappointments really are, and go after whatever it is you really want. Make sure you leave nothing on the table.
And on that note, I’ll leave you with my favorite Shane Falco quote:
"Pain heals. Chicks dig scars. And glory… lasts forever."
