The last few weeks have been totally crazy — like pushed myself well beyond limits that I didn’t even know existed crazy. But it was completely worth it.
It was chaotic at times, but I’m blown away by some of the amazing stories from the startups and attendees. I am incredibly proud of how everyone came together to make this such a great success — our team, the volunteers, the startups, sponsors, attendees, press, investors, students, everyone.
There are certainly things that could have been done better and a growing list of improvements for next time we attempt to pull of something of this magnitude. All in all, I know our team left everything on the field to make this day as awesome as possible, and that’s all we could ask for.
Now, it’s time for a return to normalcy. As we got down to crunch time, the list of sacrifices grew larger and larger:
- I stopped blogging
- I stopped grocery shopping and started eating terribly unhealthy
- I stopped going to the gym (definitely something I missed the most)
- I stopped reading tech blogs and paying attention to the outside world
- And a bunch of other stuff I had to give up due to incredibly long work days and incredibly brief visits to my bed
I forced myself stay away from work for this entire weekend. It was tough but completely necessary.
But that’s all over, and we’re back!! I was at the gym at 5:30am this morning, I went grocery shopping and ate a healthy breakfast, and I will be going into full inbox assault mode later today.
NY Tech Day was an amazing experience, and it was definitely worth all of the sacrifices that had to be made, but I’m excited to be a real person again.
