What an awesome attitude to live by…

Take a second to think about when you notice the effect of “Karma” in your life.  Whether you believe in it or not at one point, everyone in life has had the feeling of “wow, I deserved that.”  However, when I think back on it, I’ve only paid attention to the negative effects.  I’ve only noticed when something “bad” has happened in my life.  I only wait for it after I do something I shouldn’t have.

I suspect most people are like this.  What happened to the good side of the equation? If we worry so much about the bad side, and it genuinely effects our lives, why can’t the good side do the same.

I’ve heard people say, “I’d like some good things to start happening to me.”

Well, then go out and help someone.  Make a conscious effort to honestly go out of your way to help another person.  Not so they’ll repay you, but just to do it.  Start setting the wheels in motion.  It’ll all come back at some point.  I think most people who don’t believe in Karma simply just don’t notice it in action.  They see the granular cause and effect, rather than the bigger picture.

A friend of mine lives with the mantra, “How can I help?”  I’ve tried bringing this into every situation.  I can tell you first hand, it changes the way you think and act.

If there’s one thing I know for certain in life, it’s the more you give, the more you get.  Lets focus more on the giving.
